With dejected Democrats weighing up the possibility that Donald Trump has clinched the race for the White House for a second time, there will once again be talk about liberals fleeing north of the border for the next four years.
Reading the room, Canadian airline WestJet ran eyebrow-raising social media ads in the United States on Election Day promoting one-way flights to Canada with the tagline “Stressful day. Could be a nice getaway.”
Although WestJet was careful not to target either side in the election, the tone of the ads wasn’t lost on passengers who called on WestJet to give its marketing team a raise for the humorous social media post.
