A pilot for United Airlines has been arrested on suspicion of posting explicit ‘revenge porn’ against a former flight attendant girlfriend who broke off their relationship more than 10 years ago.
Andrew Hill, 36, has been charged with a slew of crimes, including distribution of pornography, distribution of intimate images, harassment, stalking and online impersonation, following his arrest on Monday.
A probable cause statement filed in a Utah court alleges that for the last ten years, Hill has been creating fake online accounts pretending to be his ex-girlfriend in which he would post sexually explicit photos and videos of his former lover.
The flight attendant did not report the crime to police until January 2024 and over the last six months, detectives in Cedar City where the victim lives have been investigating her allegations.
Following a lengthy investigation, police were able to gather enough evidence against Hill to secure an arrest warrant. Hill was picked up by police after flying into San Francisco International Airport and then escorted back to Utah on another flight.
Court documents allege that Hill would create online profiles on adult websites in his ex-girlfriend’s name where he would then post intimate images and videos of her, along with other details about her.
The victim told police that she was confident that Hill was behind this ‘revenge porn’ because she had only ever shared these intimate images with Hill during their relationship.
In one recent post, while pretending to be his ex-girlfriend, Hill posted that she fantasises about being raped.
Police believe that Hill was posting revenge porn during his travels around the world, although most of the porn was traced back via IP addresses in Denver, Colorado. Police served a warrant on the network provider for these IP addresses and discovered that Hill was the subscriber.
Hill is being held in a Utah jail and will next appear in court on July 8.
United Airlines did not immediately return a request for comment.
