Singapore Airlines has just unveiled its new Premium Economy experience, the first time the airline has revamped its soft product in this cabin since 2015.
Premium Experience passengers flying on long-haul flights with Singapore Airlines will now enjoy new custom-designed porcelain tableware, welcome Champagne served just after takeoff, and amenity kits on flights over seven hours in duration.
In addition, Premium Economy passengers will be able to peruse hard copy menus of over 200 new appetizers, entrees and desserts that have been developed by the airline’s chefs.
Singapore Airlines’ legendary garlic bread will be coming to Premium Economy, along with an expanded ‘book the cook’ pre-order meal service which will feature 20 different dishes on rotation.
The drink selection includes not only Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV Champagne as a welcome drink but peppermint and chamomile tea, as well as Cadbury hot chocolate, which has been added to the non-alcoholic drink list.
Eyeshades, slippers, and lip balm will feature in a new amenity pouch on longer flights, while dental kits will still be available in lavatories.
“Since its introduction in 2015, Premium Economy Class has become
popular with our customers,” commented Yeoh Phee Teik, Singapore Airlines’ SVP for customer experience.
“They appreciate the added amenities, heightened comfort, and the extra personal space it offers, all at an excellent value,” Teik continued.
The airline said it decided to revamp its Premium Economy soft product based on customer feedback and market research.
Premium Economy is currently available on around half of Singapore Airlines’ fleet, and the cabin flies to 31 destinations, including high-yield routes like London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Sydney and New York JFK.
Last year, Singapore Airlines also made unlimited inflight Wi-Fi available to both Economy and Premium Economy passengers to sign up to the carrier’s KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme.
