A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after punching a flight attendant in the face so hard that he broke his nose during a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to London Heathrow last Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses say that flight attendants became concerned about the man’s behaviour after he started to smash around in one of the onboard lavatories during the 13-hour flight to London.
One woman described how the man was shouting and screaming in the lavatory before he started smashing the lavatory door so hard that it came off its hinges. Another passenger tried to get the man out of the lavatory, and a scuffle ensued.
It was at this point that the man suddenly lashed out at a flight attendant, hitting him so hard in the face that the crew member was knocked to the floor.
Other passengers rushed to help restrain the man, with a video showing him being held down in a seat by a group of men. A woman can be heard in the video describing the assailant as ‘vulnerable’.
The pilots then considered diverting the Boeing 777 aircraft to Dubai to have the suspect offloaded, but, in the end, the flight continued flying to London, with passengers moving around the cabin to try to get away from the man’s shouting and screaming.
On arrival in London, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault, while the flight attendant had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect remains in custody.

A single charge of assault IS NOT ENOUGH. That man needs to be jailed for a LONG time and also banned from every airline in the world. He’s a danger and a loose canon.
