Marriott Bonvoy regularly runs a myriad of targeted promotions – some represent a great steal, while others aren’t probably worth pursuing. With that in mind, we thought we would take a closer look at some of the more enticing offers currently available across the Marriott Bonvoy program.

In this article, we’re going to look at three specific targeted promotions that will earn you up to 15,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points for a single stay or up to 25% off for longer stays at select properties worldwide.

The three offers include:

Last chance: 15,000 bonus points on holidays through Vacations by Marriott

In very simple terms, Vacations by Marriott is Marriott Bonvoy’s in-house travel agency service which allows you to book hotels and a hotel stay in one packaged booking.

Until July 31, if you book a package holiday involving a hotel stay of four or more days, plus round-trip flights with Vacations by Marriott, you can earn 15,000 bonus points.

Eligible bookings must be taken between July 1 and September 30, 2023. All the details are on the special promotion page here.

Up to 25% on longer stays of three days or more

You’ve got plenty of time to take advantage of this offer, with Marriott Bonvoy offering up to 25% off longer stays at select properties until March 12, 2024. This is a tiered promotion, so the amount you could potentially save increases with the number of nights you stay at a single property.

  • Stay three nights: Get a 15% discount
  • Stay between four and six nights: Get a 20% discount
  • Stay seven nights or more: Get a 25% discount

There are participating hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, although the promotion is subject to availability.

Common questions

How much is a Marriott Bonvoy point worth?

Marriott Bonvoy points are generally valued at around 0.7 cents per point. It’s important to note that the program no longer follows a fixed award chart after switching to dynamic award pricing last year. This means that the redemption cost for an award night can vary based on factors like seasonality and local events.

While it’s challenging to provide an exact range for redemption costs, most award nights fall between 30,000 and 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points

Does Marriott Bonvoy have an award chart?

Marriott Bonvoy has moved away from a fixed award chart due to its adoption of dynamic award pricing. This change enables the program to adjust the points required for a redemption based on factors such as demand and seasonality.

While dynamic award pricing does, unfortunately, make it difficult to determine the exact number of points needed, this flexible approach can throw up some favourable redemption options, especially during off-peak times or when promotions are available

How many Marriott Bonvoy points do I need to make a redemption?

Due to dynamic award pricing, the number of Marriott Bonvoy points required for a redemption can vary. On average, award nights range from 30,000 to 60,000 points per night. Ultra-luxe properties may demand up to 150,000 points per night – although this is the most extreme example.

To help check whether you are getting good value from your points, make use of Marriott’s award calendar to see what a particular property is charging for redemptions throughout any given month. When you go to book your stay, simply select ‘flexible dates’ to see award pricing for the entire month.

You can also switch between redemption pricing and cash pricing to see whether you are getting value for money by paying for your stay with points.

What’s the ‘fifth-night free’ promotion on award stays?

Marriott Bonvoy offers a valuable promotion called “Stay for 5, Pay for 4.” When you book an award stay for five consecutive nights, you’ll only need to redeem points for four nights. The cost of the fifth night is waived, although it applies to the cheapest night among the five.

This promotion allows members to extend their stays without using extra points. It presents an excellent opportunity to maximize the value of your points and enjoy a more extended vacation or business trip.
