The Nicest Christmas Ever: Air New Zealand's Festive Ad Is Quirky But Definitely Worth a Watch

Air New Zealand has built a reputation for its funny and offbeat safety videos that have attracted hundreds of millions of views on YouTube – the latest has been watched over 2.2 million times in the three weeks since it was launched.  But with the Christmas holidays fast approaching, the Kiwi airline has turned it attention to the festive period with a special Christmas ad that’s quirky but a delight to watch.

The ad see’s Santa accidentally send his list of naughty children to a young Kiwi school boy – who just so happens to read the email while sat in detention.  Luckily, Elvis is able to call upon the help of Air New Zealand who flies an international delegation of naughty children to the first-ever International Naughty Kids Summit – an attempt to better their behaviour so as to win their way back onto Santa’s good list.

Unfortunately, things nearly go very wrong when a young Trump lookalike (complete with MAGA baseball cap) fails to pledge any changes to his behaviour – thankfully, our Kiwi heroes come to the rescue.

“From childhood memories of writing to Santa, through to the drama of a festive tech fail, the heartwarming video plays on silly season moments in a very Kiwi way,” explains Air New Zealand’s Jodi Williams.

More than 300 children of Air New Zealand employees auditioned to take part in the clip and 17 were selected to star as extras alongside the airline’s ground and cabin crew.
