It’s often said in commercial aviation that younger flyers are the elite status holders of tomorrow. Generating loyalty at an early age is the holy grail for many airlines – children will grow into adults who forever hold the brand in positive light, continuing to fly with their favourite airline in both good and bad times (and even sometimes giving a brand a free pass even if they don’t deserve the loyalty).
So, it’s little surprise that some airlines invest a lot of money in winning over their youngest fliers at an early age – and one of the best is Emirates. For as long as we remember, the airline has offered a range of toys for children for different ages and the latest update to its offering is no different.
For the last few years, Emirates has been offering what it calls its “Come Fly With Me” range of toys for younger children – the set has included a 17 different cute animals over the last three years but now Emirates has relaunched the range with passenger favourites (as voted by customers last year).
We’ve got to say, this is a stunning and comprehensive set of toys – we can imagine parents paying good money to buy these covetable toys but Emirates will be giving them away free on all their flights.
Lewis the Lion, Peek U the Panda, Ernie the Penguin, and Savanna the Elephant are the four toys which will now feature in the range – although we can’t work out why Shane the Koala wasn’t voted for as that was definitely our favourite of the range!
On longer flights, the toys include a soft backpack with blanket or activity kit, while babies will even be included in the action with a vibrating plush that can be attached to a pram or pushchair after the flight. Older kids up to the age of 12 will continue to receive travel-themed bags containing activities and even a collectable range of socks in collaboration with Lonely Planet.
Emirates is even handing old baby amenity kits for the most forgetful of parents – the kits include a bib, spoon, baby wipes, changing mat, diaper rash cream and small diaper bag.
But remember – supplies are strictly limited!
