Singapore Airlines has been trailing the launch of its new First Class Suite for its Airbus A380 aircraft for some time – and despite the widespread speculation and controversial last-minute leaks, the launch still managed to exceed expectations.
At a glamorous ceremony held at the airline’s HQ in Singapore, Goh Choon Phong, the carrier’s chief executive said the new First Class Suite as well as revolutionary Business Class seat, updated Premium Economy and Economy products were the culmination of four years of work and customer feedback.
Phong said he was “confident” the product would help Singapore Airline retain its “leadership position” in global air travel.
“We are confident that the results will genuinely ‘wow’ our customers, and ensure that we continue to provide them with an unparalleled travel experience.”
The product will debut on the first of five new Airbus A380’s the airline has on order with the European aircraft manufacturer. Singapore Airlines had previously revealed the first flight to feature the new-look cabins will be the SQ221 from Singapore to Syndey, departing on 18th December.
The remaining 14 A380’s in the Singapore Airlines fleet will be retrofitted throughout 2018 – once complete, the new product will be available on flights to Auckland, Beijing, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Melbourne, Mumbai, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, and Zurich.

Singapore Airways is also in the process of installing high-speed wifi across its A380 fleet. The aircraft will be fitted with the Inmarsat GX Aviation’s broadband system and there’s even talk that Singapore might start offering free wifi in the near future.
